I posted this on the SRW Message Board and the facebook page for ShopRememberWhen but I know some of you over here don't necessarily visit those spots so I wanted to update you here:
I'm home and all went well :) (I had my chemo port removed this morning). Thanks so much for the well wishes...it worked! My surgeon sent a message to me before surgery asking if I wanted to keep my port so I had it (cleaned and in a baggie) in hand before leaving the operating room. No clue what I will do with it but Carol suggested an altered shadow box ? I feel great and now feel that I'm really and truly past this ~ I don't ever wish this on anyone but if it happens, treatment is doable and life does go on. HUGE thumbs up to North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, and my doctors: Dr. Dave (medical oncologist in Denton, Texas), Dr. Khaira (surgeon in Gainesville) and Dr. Rhana (radiation oncologist in Gainesville). Again, thanks for your support over the past year - glad to be back in the land of the healthy again!
